No one in the Republican Party likes John McCain. This is the conclusion I am beginning to come to. I have been asking my friends still in the GOP, and all who support McCain are doing so only out of a sense of duty or party loyalty. To put it bluntly, they support Senator McCain because he is not Senator Clinton or Senator Obama. Though they are not happy with his support for amnesty, stem cell research, campaign finance and a host of other conservative-issue compromises, they are willing to settle for the lesser of two evils.
Most conservatives I know are deeply disturbed by the results of this year’s election. What happened? Where is the conservative-standard bearer we were all hoping for? I think the more important question that must be asked is this – if conservatives do not like McCain, how in the world did he get the nomination?
Some would suggest that the conservative vote was siphoned off by a number of different candidates. In other words, conservatives failed to back one candidate and so their support was weakened by supporting a number of different candidates such as Fred Thompson, Mike Huckabee and Mitt Romney. Yet, as I recall, conservatives were not happy with those selections either, and with good reason.
The truth is, there were real conservatives in this race – Tom Tancredo, Duncan Hunter, Ron Paul and Alan Keyes. However, no one was willing to throw their support behind these men. Their conservative message and principles never caught on within their own party – at least on a national level.
It is time to wake up and realize what has happened here. The Republican Party, quite frankly, is no longer a conservative party. Conservative parties are made up of conservative voters who nominate conservative candidates. The GOP did not even come close to this. It is time conservatives understood this, they have been betrayed.
So what is a conservative voter to do? They could support the lesser of two evils, hold their nose, and cast their vote for McCain – the lesser of two evils. At least that way we prevent a Democrat from taking office. Of course, should you choose this route, please realize you have done nothing to promote your own values or principles. You will have still failed to elect a conservative.
Is there another option? Yes. We can follow the lead of Dr. Alan Keyes. A lifelong Republican, Dr. Keyes has announced he has finally had enough. On April 15, he announced his departure from the Republican Party? Where will he go? He is openly expressed a desire to run with the Constitution Party.
As I Constitution Party member since 2006, I admire the courage of Dr. Keyes and others like him. I too had to make this decision, and it was not easy. But enough was enough. I could no longer support a party who refuses to protect our borders or even to protect innocent human life in the womb. You have to draw the line somewhere.
This year is an exciting year for the Constitution Party. On April 26, next Friday, we will select our Presidential nominee. Our two leading candidates are Dr. Alan Keyes and Dr. Chuck Baldwin. Unlike the choices in other parties, our nomination is between two excellent candidates, either of whom I would be more than happy to support.
Dr. Alan Keyes is a proven champion of family and moral values. Our country does not have a more passionate, eloquent defender of the pro-life cause. Dr. Keyes’s name recognition and national campaign operation would be a valuable asset to the party. Just his name alone would attract more people into our fold. Learn more by logging on to www.alankeyes.com.
Dr. Chuck Baldwin was our 2004 Vice Presidential candidate, an outspoken pastor not afraid to speak out on the issues that matter most. He is often referred to as the “Conscience of the Constitution Party.” Baldwin hosts a daily radio program and writes a widely syndicated newspaper column. Learn more by logging on to www.chuckbaldwinlive.com.
Both candidates have their strong points and their weak points. But, either way, we will have a strong candidate who will fight to restore the Constitution and defend the liberties we hold so dear.
To my fellow conservatives still remaining in the GOP, I say this, haven’t you had enough? Aren’t you tired of being in a party where your views are merely tolerated, instead of championed? Come, take a brave step of faith, and join us over here. You’ll have a home with others who are like-minded. Do we have a chance of winning? Some say no. I say otherwise. Yet ultimately, this decision rests in your hands. Candidates are elected only have the people have spoken. How will you use your voice? Should you chose to support McCain, he may just win and our candidate would lose. If enough patriots decided to vote their conscience, then there is absolutely no telling what could happen.
Two weeks ago it was my humble honor to walk upon the famous Lexington Green in Lexington, MA. Here, hundreds of years ago, a shot was heard around the world, the start of a war that would lead to our country’s independence. This war was waged not between two armies of equal strength and might, but between the most power army on the face of the earth and rag-tag bunch of farmers with little to no battle experience. Yet, within this much smaller “army,” was a desire for freedom that would never be satisfied with anything less than their liberty. One author once told us to never doubt a small group of concerned citizens who claim they will change the world. Indeed it is the only thing that ever has.
Will we win? The choice is yours? Do you have the courage to make the right decision?

Dear Friend of the Constitution Party,
Did you know that you won’t be able to cast your vote for the Constitution Party presidential candidate unless he is listed on your state’s ballot on Election Day?
And are you aware that gaining ballot access requires collecting thousands upon thousands of signatures on petitions all across the country?
I am writing to you today to urgently remind you that we must work NOW to gain ballot lines.
The Constitution Party will be the only party running a truly constitutional candidate for President in November, and I need your help to ensure that voters in every state have the option to vote for our candidate.
Time is critical, and frankly I’m concerned. We can’t risk losing any states by waiting until the last minute! We absolutely must be working to qualify every state immediately.
But the deck is stacked against us. To qualify in several states with deadlines coming up soon means collecting almost 85,000 signatures.
Our volunteers alone can’t collect that many signatures. We must have the funds to hire professional petition circulators in these states and that will cost over $150,000.
Will you help me put this funding in place by clicking here to make a contribution?
You know the incredible impact that the internet “Money Bombs” had in the Ron Paul campaign so we all know it simply takes a lot of people giving just a little to make a huge difference. I am asking you to help make a difference by contributing what you can and we’ll have that $150,000 in just a few days.
One look at the major party presidential candidates reminds us that at no time has the danger to our freedom and values been greater, or the price for inaction been higher.
And polls show that more Americans than ever are fed up - and ready for a third party. A Zogby.com poll reveals overwhelming voter dissatisfaction with the two parties currently controlling government. ( http://zogby.com/news/ReadNews.dbm?ID=1332)
Ballot access NOW in as many states as we can afford may allow us to entice Senator Bob Smith, Judge Roy Moore, Ambassador Alan Keyes, Dr. Jerome Corsi or Dr. Chuck Baldwin to seek the Constitution Party nomination.
I appeal to you once again to help the Constitution Party by CLICKING HERE to make a contribution that will enable us all to have a political alternative to the Republicans and Democrats.
I have professional circulators lined up to help us, but we have a no-debt policy, and my commitment to it won’t allow me to start them until we have the money to pay them. So you can see why I so urgently need your contribution right away.
It’s up to us. Together, we can return our country to the principles that built this great Republic.
Yours for Liberty,
James N. Clymer, National Chairman
Your contribution is critical to our effort to gain ballot access in all 50 states. Please help me hire the professional circulators we need by making your most generous possible contribution HERE.

Dear Fellow Constitution Party Members and Friends,
Like many others, I was sorely disappointed in Ron Paul’s decision this weekend to stay within the Republican Party. Quoting from his letter:
“Of course, I am committed to fighting for our ideas within the Republican party, so there will be no third party run. I do not denigrate third parties — just the opposite, and I have long worked to remove the ballot-access restrictions on them. But I am a Republican, and I will remain a Republican.”
I have been thrilled with how much attention and support Ron Paul has received. Never before have I seen our values and beliefs get so much attention from the mainstream media. He has done more than any other person to raise our standard high. I publicly endorsed the man, and was a Ron Paul for President precinct captain. However, I was saddened by his refusal to take his candidacy to the next step.
Ron Paul would have made an incredible Constitution Party nominee. He would have brought more people into the party, united us under one banner, and given us more exposure than ever before. Ron Paul supporters are enthusiastic, dedicated Constitutionalists who are willing to sacrifice and work for their cause. Paul’s views clearly have no home in the GOP (thus his poor primary polling numbers) but would have received much better numbers in a general election. Republicans may not have elected him, but Americans could have.
Yet, Dr. Paul knows he will not capture the GOP nod and believes he should focus on keeping his seat in Congress. I have heard many others echo this same sentiment. What a loss it would be for us to lose Ron Paul in Congress – our ONLY voice in Washington. I share those concerns, but I have a far greater scheme in mind.
We often hear it said that freedom is never free. That is 100% correct. If we wish to regain our freedom and God-given liberty, we must be willing to sacrifice. If it means losing a House seat, we must be willing to sacrifice that for the greater good and future of the nation.
The Ron Paul Revolution often reminds us of another revolution back in 1776. In that year, 55 men signed the Declaration of Independence. They signed this document knowing this would sever all ties with England. It was a point of no return. Not only was there no longer a safety net, each of these signers knew should they lose in their efforts, this document would turn into their death warrant. They were willing to sacrifice everything. Now it is our turn.
If we are ever going to win the fight for freedom and liberty, we must be willing to put all on the line. Ron Paul took the first step, and now has decided to go back to the safety of his Congressional district. I applaud his efforts and thank him for his hard work. But, someone needs to pick up the mantle. Some needs to pick up where he left off – that is the job of the Constitution Party.
I do not know who our nominee will be. We have some excellent possibilities – Chuck Baldwin, Bob Smith, Alan Keyes, Judge Roy Moore, or others who are willing to throw their hat into the ring. But no matter who our nominee is, there is hard work for us ahead. We must all be willing to sacrifice and lay it all on the line in the next months leading up to November.
Our first step is choosing a nominee. We ought to be praying right now for God’s guidance in this crucial area. We want just the right man. Along with this, each state should be trying their best to get as many people to Kansas City for the convention as possible. Your voice cannot be heard if your body is not present.
Second, we need to secure ballot access for our nominee. No matter who we choose, they have no possibility of success if people cannot vote for him. This is difficult in some states. It will take great amounts of effort to see this accomplished. Yet, let us remember – it is worth the effort, the time and the money involved. We are fighting for freedom!
Third, we need to get the word out. We ought to be willing to sacrifice our time and go door-to-door and let people know we exist! Let’s get the bumper stickers and yard signs out for all to see. Let’s write the editors of our papers and take every opportunity to let everyone know what we stand for!
This may mean taking time off of work. This will require great amounts of money. In a word: sacrifice. I know not everyone can give thousands or take off much time from work. But we all can do something. Together, we can all do something great.
2008 can be the greatest year the Constitution Party has ever had. Our message is getting out there. Ron Paul had a lot of success. Ron Paul did not have success in the Republican party, because his views are not Republican views – they are Constitutional. Constitutional values transcend this two-party system and reaches out into all demographics, voting blocs and social classes. We can make some headway.
Last year, I ran for Congress in a special election. At first, my only goal was to get on the ballot in order to give the party some exposure. I now look back on that as the biggest mistake of my campaign. You see, I never thought any one would listen to me. Boy, was I wrong! I had to turn down speaking engagements! We have an audience out there. I live in liberal Massachusetts, but everyday I found more people who believe just as we do. They are out there. Had I actually set the goal of winning that election, who knows what could have happened?
Being Ron Paul’s precinct captain here in Brockton, MA, I paid close attention to the voter turn-out on February 5 (Super Tuesday). Our Secretary of State boasted of a great voter turn-out that day – 30%. That was a great turn-out! That means 70% of those registered to vote did not vote! They chose to sit out. That means two things. First, it means that we still do not know what the majority of voters in Massachusetts think. We know that the minority of citizens that show-up to the polls are liberal. This gives us 70%, millions of people, to work with! That is encouraging. Second, this statistic means the overwhelming majority of registered voters are not happy with their current crop of choices. They are not thrilled with anyone in the two major parties, at least not enough to drive to a voting place. America is ripe for a third party.
Now is not the time to be discouraged because one man has decided not to run with us. Now is the time to dig in our heals and prepare for the fight ahead. I’ve said it once, and I will say it again – Liberty is worth the fight!
Because of Grace,
Kevin Thompson,

Mitt Romney is an attractive candidate who has a seemingly endless supply of money. He is an articulate, clean-cut Republican with a respectable track record in business and executive experience. To top it all off, he stands for lower taxes and tighter broader security, while claiming to be pro-life and pro-family. He claims to have led the charge against homosexual marriage while governor of Massachusetts. Best of all, he evokes the name of Ronal Reagan whenever he get the chance. What is not to like about this guy?
Recently I had the opportunity to speak with Brian Camenker of MassResistance. Brian explains for us there much to dislike concerning Mitt Romney. Camenker, a pro-family advocate in the former governor’s state, begins to unravel the Romney deception. When the facts are unveiled, you will see a man who made access to abortion easier in Massachusetts, who promised to be a better advocate for homosexual rights than Ted Kennedy, and who actually made homosexual marriage a legal reality. Ronald Reagan must be turning in his grave each time his name is mentioned in the same breath as Romney.
Listen to this podcast and you will see that any true conservative will run, not walk away, from the Mitt Romney campaign.

Chuck Baldwin
January 29, 2008
When Glenn Beck interviewed Congressman Ron Paul a few weeks ago, he said that he had received death threats from people purporting to be Ron Paul supporters. I have heard other journalists make similar accusations against Congressman Paul’s supporters. Of course, I have no way of knowing whether any of this is true or not. And neither does anyone else.
My own experience has been that Congressman Paul’s supporters have always demonstrated grace, patience, and courtesy. I have met and worked alongside Ron Paul supporters in at least four states, and I have never personally witnessed any of the anger and bitterness of which they are accused.
Not that Ron Paul’s supporters do not have reason to be angry. They most certainly do. In fact, all of us should be angry.
Ron Paul’s supporters have been subjected to the most overt and outlandish brand of humiliation and censorship ever seen in modern politics. The cable news Republican Presidential debates have been jokes. For every one question (and usually a stupid, irrelevant question at that) asked of Dr. Paul, the other participants will get three or four. Maybe more. Even though Ron Paul has received more money, more votes, and more delegates than Rudy Giuliani, the press continues to ignore Mr. Paul while showering Giuliani with coverage.
In addition, Ron Paul’s own party continues to treat him and his supporters as second-class citizens–or perhaps even as aliens from a different planet. They are subjected to insults of every type. Not to mention enduring every conceivable method to censure or remove Dr. Paul from the political process. He has been denied access to platforms, excluded from debates, removed from GOP Presidential lists, etc., ad infinitum, ad nauseam.
I say again: if anyone has a right to be angry, it is Ron Paul supporters. But perhaps the greater question is, Why are not all of us angry? No, I do not mean in a cruel or unkind way, but where is our outrage for what the ruling elite are doing to our country?
We should all be angry at the way politicians lie to us, deceive us, and manipulate us. We should all be angry at the way both major parties have completely ignored and trampled constitutional government.
Are we so gullible that we cannot see when a politician says one thing to one group of people and a totally opposite thing to another group of people? Are we so naïve that we cannot tell when a politician changes his beliefs simply in order to garner votes?
Come on folks, let’s get real: do you really expect John McCain to abandon his efforts to grant amnesty to illegal aliens? Do you really expect Mitt Romney to be a champion for the unborn? Do you really expect Mike Huckabee to suddenly be the champion for limited government spending? Do you really expect Rudy Giuliani to keep his pants zipped?
Have the American people become so numbed to truth and reality that we cannot distinguish the genuine from the phony–even when it stands right in front of us? Perhaps so. However, if the American people had any of the character and resolve of our forebears, we would be steaming mad about what our political and business leaders have done to our country.
Yes, we should be angry at the way our government has repeatedly lied to us about the economy, about sending our jobs and manufacturing industries overseas, about Iraq, and about EVERYTHING! Yes, dear friends, they lie to us about everything. It has gotten to the point that, frankly, I believe NOTHING the government tells us. They have proven themselves to be totally disingenuous and downright duplicitous. And, frankly, I’m angry about it.
In addition, I can even understand whatever anger and exasperation Ron Paul’s supporters feel regarding my fellow evangelical believers. Today’s Christians–and especially our pastors–have become little more than toadies for the establishment elite. They apparently have never read our U.S. Constitution, Declaration of Independence, or Bill of Rights. They are seemingly oblivious to our great American history and heritage. They seem to lack the most elementary understanding of even the most basic American principles.
For example, it makes absolutely no sense that Christian pastors would embrace the sudden pro-life candidacy of Mitt Romney and reject the proven, twenty-year pro-life record of Ron Paul. It makes no sense that evangelical Christians would embrace the pro-illegal amnesty, pro-McCain/Feingold, pro-No-Child-Left-Behind, pro-gun control John McCain and reject the proven, twenty-year no-amnesty, pro-freedom, anti-No-Child-Left-Behind, pro-Second Amendment record of Ron Paul. It makes absolutely no sense that Christians would fall for Mr. Big Government himself, Mike Huckabee, and reject the champion of limited government, Ron Paul.
Beyond that, how is it that pastors and evangelicals cannot see through the GOP’s complicity in helping to establish a Luciferian New World Order? How can they be so blind and dumb regarding the global machinations of the Council on Foreign Relations? How can they not understand and reject the philosophy emanating from the Trilateral Commission and Bilderbergers?
Ask the average pastor and Christian about the CFR, the Trilateralists, or the Bilderbergers and they just stare into space. They are absolutely clueless. Ask them about the burgeoning NAFTA superhighway, North American Union, or Amero and they look stupefied. Again, they are absolutely clueless. And, yes, I am angry about it. I am saddened and angered at the lack of knowledge, perception, and discernment demonstrated by my Christian brethren.
I believe with all my heart that if the pastors and Christian people of America would come off their high horse and start supporting the principles of liberty, the U.S. Constitution, and limited government, not only would there be a rebirth of freedom in America, there would be a spiritual revival as well.
As it is, freedom-loving people cannot see past the ignorance, elitism, and partisan phoniness of modern Christians in order that they might see Christ. The Scripture plainly says, “Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.” (II Corinthians 3:17)
When America’s Colonial preachers and Christian people fought for liberty and independence, God gave us two Great Awakenings. I believe another Great Revival would come to America, if our Christians and pastors would stand on their hind legs and once again fight for liberty and independence. And, yes, I am also angry that they will not do that either.

If you are a conservative Christian still thinking of voting for Mitt Romney, PLEASE visit this website.
As we know, Mitt Romney has been all over the place when it comes to abortion. When he ran for the Senate against Ted Kennedy he was unashamedly pro-choice (pro-death). When he ran for governor, he was still pro-choice. Now that he is running for President, suddenly he is pro-life. This article is very important to read because Romney himself has asked us to just look at his record while governor here.
I think the only thing we can say about Romney is that he is multiple choice.

I keep hearing more and more people urge me to vote for Mitt Romney because, after all, he is better than the alternative - Hillary or Obama. I’m not so sure Mitt Romney would be better than Hillary or Obama. Conservatives in MA know that better than anyone else.
Mitt Romney is the man who promised to be a better defender of homosexual rights than Ted Kennedy (1994). Has he changed? Under his leadership, we are the only state in the Union to have homosexual marriage.
Hillary Clinton pushed for universal health care during her husband’s campaign. We here in MA have mandatory healthcare through Romney’s health insurance plan.
Mitt Romney will say anything to get elected. The supposed pro-life advocate did nothing during his years as governor to stop even one abortion. Instead, he signed legislation giving more funding to hospitals performing abortions.
Socialized medicine, homosexual marriage, more abortion - how does he differ from Hillary and Obama?
Unlike most Republicans I met nowadays, I am not willing to replace principle with pragmatism. Many conservatives are sacrificing their morals on the altar of “electablility.” You will get what you vote for.
What we need today is not another quasi-conservative to embrace because he is to so bad. We need men and women who are willing to stand for what they believe. It is time for us to demonstrate the courage of our convictions.
It seems to me that we have only time major parties left - the Democrats and the Scardy-Cats! I’m sorry, If you want my vote, you better come to me with more than, “I’m not as bad as the other guy.” Would I embrace Stalin because some consider him better than Hitler? There is no logical argument behind such thinking.
Our form of government only works when people vote for candidates they feel best represents their views and beliefs. When we willingly vote for those that do not reflect our values, we willingly give up representation in our government. Washington is a mess today because the people have made it so. Again, we get what we vote for.
I am offended every time I hear someone claim I am working to elect Hillary or any one of the Democrats simply because I am not willing to vote for a Republican whom I disagree with. Such talk destroys the Republic our Founding Fathers died to give us. These people are trying to take away my right to vote by intimidation. I will not be intimidated.
Voting for candidates we do not believe in is not the answer, it is the problem.

Constitution Party Commucations Director
The fact that the media are toadying up to president wanna-be Mike Huckabee should tell you all you need to know.
He is not, never has been, nor will he suddenly turn into, a statesman who will get the United States back on a constitutional track.
The media have for one reason only blessed Mike Huckabee; and it has nothing to do with his profession of faith in the Nazarene.
Media have anointed him a ‘frontrunner’ despite his profession of Christian beliefs.
The reason is, Mike Huckabee embraces enough big-government, left-leaning socialist policies and ideology that his Christianity can be forgiven him by a press corps decidedly hostile to all that honors Providence.
The former Arkansas governor never met an illegal alien he did not want to wrap in social services. Huckabee thinks those who break and enter here instead of going through the legally defined channels should receive prenatal care, reduced college tuition and all the perks taxpayers can bundle up and hand over. He also liked giving the Mexican government a taxpayer subsidized place to lobby for more perks from Arkansans. In fact, Mike Huckabee thinks if you are against amnesty and guest worker programs, you are likely under bondage to the sin of racism. A recent poll taken by the group Americans for Legal Immigration showed 65% oppose Huckabee’s amnesty plan allowing illegals to return to their country for a day and then come back into the U.S. legally. Only 10% of those polled approved of his so-called ‘touch-back’ plan, better known as amnesty dressed up as ‘immigration reform’.
Mike thinks God’s earth ought to be more ‘green.’ He’s bought into the cars-cause-the- earth’s -temperatures –to-fluctuate- hoax and wants our government to join in the rush to crush free enterprise, private property and liberty in order to cool things down.
Huckabee thinks government is your momma. While governor, he supported laws to ban pregnant women from smoking and laws mandating schoolchildren be weighed for obesity.
These state-level policy decisions are among the reasons the media can forgive Governor Huckabee his Christian-ness; after all, what media outlet doesn’t love that ‘more-is-better’ approach to the federal government’s role.
It should be clear; those who subscribe to a constitutionally sound political ideology could not support Huckabee for president the way they could support Congressman Ron Paul.
Mike Huckabee is no Ron Paul, not only because of the governor’s relentless pursuit of the nanny-state, but because he has struggled with the sin of greed while serving the public. By now, reports have surfaced about how he accepted cash, suits, gold jewelry and other items just barely squeezing by the law, and how he gave political appointments to people who gave him cool stuff. Then there was the downright tacky gift-grab he attempted when he registered for house wares at local department stores when he and his wife were moving out of the governor’s mansion. You just cannot make this stuff up.
On a more serious, actually, a deadly note, Huckabee supported the invasion of Iraq, even after he acknowledged the justification for that war was bogus. He also does not discount pre-emptive war against Iran.
Just what we need- another president who will swear to uphold the Constitution and then turn around and disregard that business in Article I Section 8 that says something about who can declare war and for what reasons.
Huckabee’s lying about a theology degree, his pardon of a convict who went on to rape and murder a woman, his defense of evolution (though he doesn’t “believe” the theory he thinks school children should be taught it as truth), are some of the reasons we should question his judgment and his character. However, many will say, “it doesn’t matter, he’s a good man, a born again Christian and we need a Christian in the White House.”
These are the same people who voted for George W. Bush. Twice. The same people who continue to defend GW today, because… “He’s a Christian”… All the while a staunch, limited government, classically conservative, constitutionalist Christian candidate named Ron Paul bobs and weaves beneath the radar getting no endorsements from the big name “Christians” or their followers.
Where were the followers of Jesus when Ambassador Alan Keyes ran for president?
The time has come to look beyond the labels, ignoring the talk and focusing on the walk. Neither of the parties in charge in D.C. will offer up a sound constitutionalist for president (barring a miraculous Ron Paul candidacy). However, we can be part of a second American revolution, which upends the political status quo and declares support for a third party candidate. Otherwise we may watch “Christians” elect another enemy of the Constitution. For now, I find myself praying:
“God, save us from your people.”

What is it about Ron Paul that the Establishment finds so disturbing?
This is a man who perhaps personifies Christian character and integrity, American patriotism, and family values more than any other public figure. Ron Paul is a committed family man whose marriage to Carol has lasted for more than 50 years. He is a lover of families and children. As an OB/GYN physician, Dr. Paul has delivered more than 4,000 babies into this world. His life demonstrates a commitment to life and marriage.
Furthermore, Ron Paul’s devotion to Christ is very personal and deep. Unlike many politicians (especially in the Republican Party), Ron Paul does not wear his religion on his sleeve. He doesn’t need to. Anyone who knows him knows his faith is exhibited on a daily basis. His life and family are testaments to his Christian faith.
Beyond that, Ron Paul’s record in Congress is so unblemished, so honest, so full of integrity that it is difficult to describe. This is a man who actually takes his oath to the Constitution (an oath every congressman, senator, and President also takes–but then ignores) seriously. So much so that he has never voted to raise taxes, never voted for an unbalanced budget, never voted for a congressional pay raise, never voted for a federal restriction on gun ownership, and never voted to increase the power of the executive branch of the federal government.
In addition, Ron Paul has never taken a government-paid junket. Even though he is a 10-term congressman, he is not accepting a government pension. He also returns a portion of his office budget every year to the taxpayers. No wonder Ron Paul was declared to be the “Taxpayer’s Best Friend.”
Now, how in the name of common sense can a man such as Ron Paul be hated? Maybe it is because he is a man of integrity and honesty. Remember, our Lord said that men who love darkness hate the light. And if there is a word that describes the Establishment in America today, it is DARKNESS.
Name it: the establishment Democrat and Republican Parties, the establishment media, the establishment financial institutions, and even the establishment churches all seem to be run by people who exude the power of darkness. It should not surprise us, therefore, when a man arises who personifies the light of integrity and honesty, that the powers that be should hate him–and hate Ron Paul they do.
Conservative Republican Ron Paul is loathed as much by members of his own party as he is by liberal Democrats. Even though he is the epitome of a Christian gentleman, Ron Paul is despised by Christians and pastors as much as he is by pagans–maybe more. The media despises him–especially Fox News. The so-called conservative Fox News celebrity Sean Hannity practically goes ballistic at the mere mention of Dr. Paul’s name.
Ron Paul has been categorized with the Ku Klux Klan, brothel owners, and Skin Heads. He has been called practically every name in the book. Conservatives and liberals alike rail against Dr. Paul in a manner never seen before in modern politics. Again, why does the Establishment hate him so much? I’ll tell you why.
The Establishment hates Ron Paul because his honesty and integrity expose the rest of them for the moral reprobates they are. Their own conscience cannot bear the sight of him. His very presence condemns them. Their personal greed and ambition cringe at the very thought of Ron Paul. If Dr. Paul became President, the Gig would be up! It would be Wyatt Earp and Doc Holliday at Tombstone all over again. They know it, and they will fight like mad to keep their corrupt stranglehold on American politics.
Another reason the Establishment hates Ron Paul is because he is a true American–and there are not very many true Americans left in Washington, D.C., these days. You see, Ron Paul has read and studied American history. He understands constitutional government. He knows what real money is–and is not. As historian and author Thomas DiLorenzo said, Ron Paul is a modern-day Thomas Jefferson. (See his column at: http://www.lewrockwell.com/dilorenzo/dilorenzo137.html )
Unfortunately, most of what we have in Washington, D.C., these days (in both parties) is a bunch of internationalists who cannot see past their own selfish interests. They are consumed with greed and power. They are slaves to Big Business and special interest groups. They are petty, shallow hirelings who care nothing for constitutional government, the principles of liberty, or the American people. To them, Ron Paul represents everything they hate: limited government, freedom, selflessness, humility, and integrity.
Furthermore, Ron Paul is not interested in creating a world empire. Neither is he a warmonger. He would squash the burgeoning New World Order in its tracks–and the globalists ensconced in Washington and New York City know it.
There is only one Presidential candidate who would bring a modern-day revolution to Washington, D.C., and it is not Barack Obama or Mike Huckabee. It is Ron Paul. Obama and Huckabee–along with the rest of the Democrat and Republican contenders–are only more of the same. The same Nanny State, the same unconstitutional laws and regulations, the same advances toward global government, the same attacks against individual liberties, the same arrogance, the same hypocrisy, the same social programs, the same back-breaking taxes, the same jack-booted federal police tactics, the same IRS, the same lobbyists, and the same corrupt Washington politics.
That the Establishment would hate Ron Paul should not surprise us. It does not even surprise me that many pastors and Christians despise Ron Paul. (After all, many of them still worship at the altar of George W. Bush.) What is yet to be seen is, How will the American people receive him? His strong showing in Iowa surprised most of the “experts.” I believe he will do even better in New Hampshire today. How Dr. Paul’s campaign fares in future primaries is still to be seen.
Should Ron Paul fail in his bid to become the Republican Party’s Presidential nominee, I believe it is critically important that he continue his bid as a Third Party candidate. His campaign is more than a campaign–it is a movement. People by the thousands and money by the millions is pouring in, and it will continue to pour in all the way to the general election. It is essential that Ron Paul stays in the race all the way to November.
Remember, when Abraham Lincoln won in 1860, there were four strong Presidential candidates, and Lincoln won with just 39% of the popular vote. With New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg seriously considering an independent bid for the White House, and if Ron Paul, likewise, runs as a Third Party candidate, 2008 could see another race with four strong Presidential contenders. In such a case, anything is possible–including a Ron Paul victory.
The fact is, Ron Paul does not need the support of the Establishment to win. With God’s help–and with the help of millions of fed-up and tireless average Joes–anything is possible. Anything.
Here is another thing: the fact that the Establishment hates Ron Paul so much must mean that there is ample reason for ordinary people like you and me to love him!
