Why Are Ron Paul’s Supporters So Angry?

Filed under: Candidates, Baldwin Commentary — Kevin @ 13:13

Chuck Baldwin
January 29, 2008

When Glenn Beck interviewed Congressman Ron Paul a few weeks ago, he said that he had received death threats from people purporting to be Ron Paul supporters. I have heard other journalists make similar accusations against Congressman Paul’s supporters. Of course, I have no way of knowing whether any of this is true or not. And neither does anyone else.

My own experience has been that Congressman Paul’s supporters have always demonstrated grace, patience, and courtesy. I have met and worked alongside Ron Paul supporters in at least four states, and I have never personally witnessed any of the anger and bitterness of which they are accused.

Not that Ron Paul’s supporters do not have reason to be angry. They most certainly do. In fact, all of us should be angry.

Ron Paul’s supporters have been subjected to the most overt and outlandish brand of humiliation and censorship ever seen in modern politics. The cable news Republican Presidential debates have been jokes. For every one question (and usually a stupid, irrelevant question at that) asked of Dr. Paul, the other participants will get three or four. Maybe more. Even though Ron Paul has received more money, more votes, and more delegates than Rudy Giuliani, the press continues to ignore Mr. Paul while showering Giuliani with coverage.

In addition, Ron Paul’s own party continues to treat him and his supporters as second-class citizens–or perhaps even as aliens from a different planet. They are subjected to insults of every type. Not to mention enduring every conceivable method to censure or remove Dr. Paul from the political process. He has been denied access to platforms, excluded from debates, removed from GOP Presidential lists, etc., ad infinitum, ad nauseam.

I say again: if anyone has a right to be angry, it is Ron Paul supporters. But perhaps the greater question is, Why are not all of us angry? No, I do not mean in a cruel or unkind way, but where is our outrage for what the ruling elite are doing to our country?

We should all be angry at the way politicians lie to us, deceive us, and manipulate us. We should all be angry at the way both major parties have completely ignored and trampled constitutional government.

Are we so gullible that we cannot see when a politician says one thing to one group of people and a totally opposite thing to another group of people? Are we so naïve that we cannot tell when a politician changes his beliefs simply in order to garner votes?

Come on folks, let’s get real: do you really expect John McCain to abandon his efforts to grant amnesty to illegal aliens? Do you really expect Mitt Romney to be a champion for the unborn? Do you really expect Mike Huckabee to suddenly be the champion for limited government spending? Do you really expect Rudy Giuliani to keep his pants zipped?

Have the American people become so numbed to truth and reality that we cannot distinguish the genuine from the phony–even when it stands right in front of us? Perhaps so. However, if the American people had any of the character and resolve of our forebears, we would be steaming mad about what our political and business leaders have done to our country.

Yes, we should be angry at the way our government has repeatedly lied to us about the economy, about sending our jobs and manufacturing industries overseas, about Iraq, and about EVERYTHING! Yes, dear friends, they lie to us about everything. It has gotten to the point that, frankly, I believe NOTHING the government tells us. They have proven themselves to be totally disingenuous and downright duplicitous. And, frankly, I’m angry about it.

In addition, I can even understand whatever anger and exasperation Ron Paul’s supporters feel regarding my fellow evangelical believers. Today’s Christians–and especially our pastors–have become little more than toadies for the establishment elite. They apparently have never read our U.S. Constitution, Declaration of Independence, or Bill of Rights. They are seemingly oblivious to our great American history and heritage. They seem to lack the most elementary understanding of even the most basic American principles.

For example, it makes absolutely no sense that Christian pastors would embrace the sudden pro-life candidacy of Mitt Romney and reject the proven, twenty-year pro-life record of Ron Paul. It makes no sense that evangelical Christians would embrace the pro-illegal amnesty, pro-McCain/Feingold, pro-No-Child-Left-Behind, pro-gun control John McCain and reject the proven, twenty-year no-amnesty, pro-freedom, anti-No-Child-Left-Behind, pro-Second Amendment record of Ron Paul. It makes absolutely no sense that Christians would fall for Mr. Big Government himself, Mike Huckabee, and reject the champion of limited government, Ron Paul.

Beyond that, how is it that pastors and evangelicals cannot see through the GOP’s complicity in helping to establish a Luciferian New World Order? How can they be so blind and dumb regarding the global machinations of the Council on Foreign Relations? How can they not understand and reject the philosophy emanating from the Trilateral Commission and Bilderbergers?

Ask the average pastor and Christian about the CFR, the Trilateralists, or the Bilderbergers and they just stare into space. They are absolutely clueless. Ask them about the burgeoning NAFTA superhighway, North American Union, or Amero and they look stupefied. Again, they are absolutely clueless. And, yes, I am angry about it. I am saddened and angered at the lack of knowledge, perception, and discernment demonstrated by my Christian brethren.

I believe with all my heart that if the pastors and Christian people of America would come off their high horse and start supporting the principles of liberty, the U.S. Constitution, and limited government, not only would there be a rebirth of freedom in America, there would be a spiritual revival as well.

As it is, freedom-loving people cannot see past the ignorance, elitism, and partisan phoniness of modern Christians in order that they might see Christ. The Scripture plainly says, “Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.” (II Corinthians 3:17)

When America’s Colonial preachers and Christian people fought for liberty and independence, God gave us two Great Awakenings. I believe another Great Revival would come to America, if our Christians and pastors would stand on their hind legs and once again fight for liberty and independence. And, yes, I am also angry that they will not do that either.

Roe v Wade Anniversary

by James N. Clymer
Chairman, Constitution Party National Committee

Today marks the 35th anniversary of the Supreme Court decision that legalized abortion. Since January 22, 1973 more than 50 million babies have been murdered in the womb under the guise of granting “reproductive choice” to their mothers.

On this date, the country’s only national pro-life political party (Sanctity of Life Platform Plank) calls attention to the carnage that results in approximately 3,700 dead babies each day. (http://www.abortionno.org/Resources/fastfacts.html )

The Constitution Party remains committed to ending the slaughter and returning to a government dedicated to protecting the life and liberty of all citizens.

The Law of the Sea Treaty

Viewpoint
Constitution Party of Florida
January 24, 2008

The Law of the Sea Treaty (LOST), the agreement that would give the United Nations power to regulate seven-tenths of the world’s surface, is still in the balance. The Senate Foreign Relations Committee has approved it, and our Senate has schemed to keep the public unaware, while it is believed they could ratify it at any time. The secrecy involved in this treaty that would incredibly affect our nation speaks of its very controversial nature. The Washington Post and mainstream media have effected a blackout on the LOST issue, reports the American Free Press (1/14/08). Americans should be informed, warned, and in opposition.

The United Nations originated this scheme in the 1970’s as part of their redistributionist agenda known as the “New International Economic Order.” Through this treaty, a transfer of wealth and technology would be accomplished from the industrialized nations to the Third World nations. The UN would collect royalties on the commercial use of the seabed through the International Seabed Authority, a power that would give it control of the riches at the bottom of all the worlds’ oceans.

This ISA would have the authority to grant or refuse permits for deep sea mining, with fees simply for applying. Fishing and navigation of the worlds’ oceans would also be under the control of the UN. The UN claims the oceans in the name of the “common heritage of mankind.”

Extracting fees for use of the oceans is, of course, a form of taxation. The American Free Press notes that there are pending before the United Nations proposals for directly taxing “citizens of the world.” One of these is to place a levy on oil at the wellhead. This would amount to paying a direct tax to the UN every time we purchase oil or gasoline—higher gas prices and more taxes, just what we need at this time. Worse than the tax, would be a further surrender to the socialist/communist dominated United Nations and a further step toward world government.

As we have indicated in the past, Howard Phillips of Conservative Caucus and the Constitution Party lists opposition to the ratification of LOST (also known as UNLOST) as a top priority issue with which we should be actively involved, contacting our U.S. Senators. Among the many losses to the United States through a LOST treaty, Phillips states that the International Seabed Authority would have the authority to regulate ocean research and exploration, the power to deny U.S. companies access to strategic ocean minerals freely available to us today, to establish production quotas, and the power to create a multinational court system called the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea, and to enforce its judgments.

President Ronald Reagan first rejected LOST in 1982 on grounds that the U.S. would surrender sovereignty to the UN and its international courts. President Clinton favored the treaty but withheld submission to the Senate due to lack of support.

Reportedly, many Senators and presidential candidates have become aware of the evils associated with the ratification of LOST. Our globalist President Bush is calling for ratification. However, victory for the internationalists is no longer assured. Contacting our Senators telling of our opposition is very important at this time.

We must also hold them accountable if they fail to reject this destructive treaty. It would be of great loss to the United States of authority, further erode our failing economy, and especially grant vast power and wealth to the United Nations. The Constitution Party is unalterably opposed to any treaty which would deprive U.S. citizens of their constitutional rights.

For Those of You Still Thinking of Voting for Romney…

Filed under: Candidates, Abortion — Kevin @ 6:06

If you are a conservative Christian still thinking of voting for Mitt Romney, PLEASE visit this website.

As we know, Mitt Romney has been all over the place when it comes to abortion. When he ran for the Senate against Ted Kennedy he was unashamedly pro-choice (pro-death). When he ran for governor, he was still pro-choice. Now that he is running for President, suddenly he is pro-life. This article is very important to read because Romney himself has asked us to just look at his record while governor here.

I think the only thing we can say about Romney is that he is multiple choice.

Which Way, America?

Filed under: Secure Borders, North American Union, Viewpoint — Kevin @ 6:06

Constitution Party of Florida
January 17, 2008

I sometimes wonder what America will be like when the globalists get finished with their scheming and planning to bring in the New World Order. Have you given it any thought? I’m convinced that many Americans are totally unaware of what the future holds for their country. Others are convinced that the uniting of nations won’t be so bad, even great with freedom to travel, one currency, one government, one grand utopia. They have been taught that and they believe what their mentors say. Still others are convinced that they can’t do anything to stop the progress of nations, so to speak, so that they may as well enjoy life and, let’s face it, we must be optimistic. Many Christians seem to be convinced that, since God is in control and that world government is in prophecy, they would not dare try to stand in the way.

Suppose that you knew that your president and other world leaders were planning the merger of the U.S. with the European Union by 2015? Would that cause you to perk up and open your ears? Wow! In my lifetime! I hadn’t thought of it that way. Even now, while the North American Union is gradually being put into place, though being denied by officials and media, a more far-reaching plan is in the wings. Dr. Jerome Corsi, in WorldNetDaily, January 16, 2008, reports: “Six U.S. senators and 49 House members are advisers for a group working toward a Transatlantic Common Market between the U.S. and the European Union by 2015.”

In April of last year, President Bush hosted a Transatlantic Economic Council at the White House to implement this plan. Invited were German Chancellor Angela Merkel and European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso. Now this plan is proceeding as the Transatlantic Policy Network, a non-governmental organization headquartered in Washington and Brussels which is chaired by a U.S. Senator Robert Bennett, Republican of Utah. Now we need to tune in to the T.P.N.

Here we have an agreement “to integrate and harmonize administrative rules and regulations between the U.S. and the EU ‘in a very quiet way,’ without introducing a new free trade agreement to Congress,” states the report. We realize that there are now six Senators and 49 Congressmen who have been enticed to cooperate in the uniting of our country with European countries without the consent of Congress or the people of the United States of America. Rep. Jim Costa (D-CA), a member of the advisory group, affirmed the target date of 2015 for the creation of a Transatlantic Common Market.

No doubt believing that there is safety in numbers, the Bush administration has now enlisted 55 members of Congress to participate in the surrender of the sovereignty of our nation. That an economic union with other nations comprises also the ultimate political union of those countries is admitted by World Bank economist, Domenec Ruiz Devesa, stating: “…since an integrated market requires common institutions producing common rules to govern it.” We need only to look at the European Union to realize what many in Europe did not realize when they were being persuaded to join a Common Market, that the individual freedoms of their countries were being surrendered to an unelected, appointed group of administrators whose rulings would affect their lives, their fortunes, and even their morals as we reported previously.

What will America be like if and when such a union is implemented? Don’t expect your freedoms to be intact. Don’t expect your Constitution to be any longer effective. Don’t expect your church leaders to be allowed to “preach the Word, in season and out of season,” any longer. Don’t expect to be able to protect your rights in anything resembling an American court. In short, NOW is the time to consider what we have to lose if we sit still, don’t get involved, and just let unimpeded centralized Washington government continue in their path to a grand sovereignty-surrendering union—their New World Order.

GOP Primary in Michigan
(Opinion is rarely offered here, but this just seems too obvious!)

Maybe I just missed it, but wouldn’t you think that with these Republican candidates campaigning in Michigan, the home of the American auto industry, they might be talking at least a little bit about trade policy and the the effect of all of these so-called free trade agreements on our manufacturing base, including the auto industry, and the American working people? Hmmm.

Could it be that if they did talk about trade policy, it would quickly be revealed that all of them, other than Duncan Hunter and Ron Paul, support the globalist trade policy agenda that is largely responsible for the destruction of American industry and the devastating loss of American jobs including those of many of the Michigan voters whose votes they are seeking?

Here is how the front runners of the GOP addressed the situation of the auto industry as reported by AP.

GOP Candidates Demonstrate Commitment to Detroit at Auto Show
by Associated Press
Tuesday, January 15, 2008

DETROIT — Roomy, powerful and rugged — but how does the Chevrolet Tahoe handle those frosty political moments?
For a brief time Monday a silver hybrid Tahoe was practically all that separated Republican presidential rivals Mitt Romney and Mike Huckabee as they toured the North American International Auto Show.

The two, who have been exchanging sharp criticism on the eve of the Michigan primary, didn’t speak to each other.

Glitzy concept cars and trendy alternative fuel vehicles were a backdrop for messages of support for the ailing auto industry from Romney and Huckabee as well as another presidential contender, Sen. John McCain.

“I’m convinced that the future of this industry is bright,” Romney said in front of a Chevy Equinox hydrogen fuel cell. “It’s gone through some tough times, but the idea that the American automobile industry is in trouble or is declining is simply wrong.”

Romney, a Michigan native, promised to convene an auto industry summit within his first 100 days as president.

McCain used his visit to the auto show to praise auto industry workers for building “green technology,” and he credited Democratic Rep. John Dingell of Michigan for helping to mold a recent agreement on fuel economy standards.

Earlier in the day in Lansing, Huckabee toured Demmer Corp., an auto supplier that produces metal stampings. The former Arkansas governor said he’d change government policies to cut back on regulation and taxes.

“It isn’t real sensible to me that the toughest reason to keep jobs is not that somebody across the world is competing against your business, but it’s that your own government won’t get off your back,” Huckabee said.

The American people deserve
better than this!

Thankfully, the Constitution Party is standing up for the American people and telling the truth about what is causing the destruction of our manufacturing base and the catastrophic loss of American jobs. The following is the Constitution Party plank on tariffs and trade from its 2004 platform. Compare this to the platitudes expressed in the previous article:

Tariffs and Trade
Article I, Section 8, of the Constitution states that Congress shall have the power “To regulate Commerce with foreign Nations.” Congress may not abdicate or transfer to others these Constitutional powers. We oppose, therefore, the unconstitutional transfer of authority over U.S. trade policy from Congress to agencies, domestic or foreign, which improperly exercise policy-setting functions with respect to U.S. trade policy.

We favor the abolition of the Office of Special Trade Representative, and insist on the withdrawal of the United States from the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT), the World Trade Organization (WTO), and all other agreements wherein agencies other than the Congress of the United States improperly assume responsibility for establishing American trade policies.

Article I, Section 8 provides that duties, imposts, and excises are legitimate revenue-raising measures on which the United States government may properly rely. We support a tariff based revenue system, as did the Founding Fathers, which was the policy of the United States during most of the nation’s history. In no event will the U.S. tariff on any foreign import be less than the difference between the foreign item’s cost of production and the cost of production of a similar item produced in the United States. The cost of production of a U.S. product shall include, but not be limited to, all compensation, including fringe benefits, paid to American workers, and environmental costs of doing business imposed on business by federal, state, and local governments.

Tariffs are not only a constitutional source of revenue, but, wisely administered, are an aid to preservation of the national economy. Since the adoption of the 1934 Trade Agreements Act, the United States government has engaged in a free trade policy which has destroyed or endangered important segments of our domestic agriculture and industry, undercut the wages of our working men and women, and totally destroyed or shipped abroad the jobs of hundreds of thousands of workers. This free trade policy is being used to foster socialism in America through welfare and subsidy programs.

We oppose all international trade agreements which have the effect of diminishing America’s economic self-sufficiency and of exporting jobs, the loss of which impoverishes American families, undermines American communities, and diminishes America’s capacity for economic self-reliance, and the provision of national defense.

We see our country and its workers as more than bargaining chips for multinational corporations and international banks in their ill-conceived and evil New World Order.

We reject the trade concept of normal trade relations (Most Favored Nation status), used to curry favor with regimes whose domestic and international policies are abhorrent to decent people everywhere, and which are in fundamental conflict with the vital interests of the United States of America.

We strongly oppose unconstitutional “Trade Promotion Authority,” which transfers the establishment of trade policy from Congress to the Executive branch of government.

In the name of free trade, multi-national corporations have been given tax breaks by the U.S. government which are not available to American businesses, and the money extracted from U.S. taxpayers has been used by the government to subsidize exports and encourage businesses to move abroad. Such improprieties must cease.

The United States government should establish the firm policy that U.S. or multinational businesses investing abroad do so at their own risk. There is no obligation by our Government to protect those businesses with the lives of our service personnel, or the taxes of our citizens.

In the area of national security, foreign interests have been abetted in gaining access to America’s high-tech secrets under the guise of commercial enterprise. We propose that technology transfers which compromise national security be made illegal, and urge that all violators be prosecuted. We demand that all weapons systems, military uniforms and equipment purchased for the American military be domestically produced in their entirety along with all their component parts.

We oppose the practice of any officer of the United States government, or spouse thereof, who, subsequent to Federal government employment is employed to represent a foreign government or other foreign entity, public or private, for purposes of influencing public opinion or policy on matters affecting U.S. trade with such foreign government or entity.

The Constitution Party is the only political party in America fighting to protect American jobs! Spread the word!

Voting for Principle, NOT Romney

I keep hearing more and more people urge me to vote for Mitt Romney because, after all, he is better than the alternative - Hillary or Obama. I’m not so sure Mitt Romney would be better than Hillary or Obama. Conservatives in MA know that better than anyone else.

Mitt Romney is the man who promised to be a better defender of homosexual rights than Ted Kennedy (1994). Has he changed? Under his leadership, we are the only state in the Union to have homosexual marriage.

Hillary Clinton pushed for universal health care during her husband’s campaign. We here in MA have mandatory healthcare through Romney’s health insurance plan.

Mitt Romney will say anything to get elected. The supposed pro-life advocate did nothing during his years as governor to stop even one abortion. Instead, he signed legislation giving more funding to hospitals performing abortions.

Socialized medicine, homosexual marriage, more abortion - how does he differ from Hillary and Obama?

Unlike most Republicans I met nowadays, I am not willing to replace principle with pragmatism. Many conservatives are sacrificing their morals on the altar of “electablility.” You will get what you vote for.

What we need today is not another quasi-conservative to embrace because he is to so bad. We need men and women who are willing to stand for what they believe. It is time for us to demonstrate the courage of our convictions.

It seems to me that we have only time major parties left - the Democrats and the Scardy-Cats! I’m sorry, If you want my vote, you better come to me with more than, “I’m not as bad as the other guy.” Would I embrace Stalin because some consider him better than Hitler? There is no logical argument behind such thinking.

Our form of government only works when people vote for candidates they feel best represents their views and beliefs. When we willingly vote for those that do not reflect our values, we willingly give up representation in our government. Washington is a mess today because the people have made it so. Again, we get what we vote for.

I am offended every time I hear someone claim I am working to elect Hillary or any one of the Democrats simply because I am not willing to vote for a Republican whom I disagree with. Such talk destroys the Republic our Founding Fathers died to give us. These people are trying to take away my right to vote by intimidation. I will not be intimidated.

Voting for candidates we do not believe in is not the answer, it is the problem.
