A Heritage To Be Thankful For
By Steven E. Moran,

I recently read an
article on worldnetdaily.com that was so disturbing I am
compelled to write this commentary. A pastor and his
wife from California while traveling, decided to take in
a little history, and took a tour of the Supreme Court
building while in Washington D.C. He was dismayed at
what the tour guides were telling the group, and in his
words; “Having done some research (before the trip),
I absolutely was not expecting to hear those remarks
which simply denied history.”
The pastor describes a
distortion of fact that took place on his tour while
observing the images of the Majesty of the Law and Power
of Government. Included in this image is a tablet with
ten Roman numerals; the first five are written in column
form down the left side, and the last five are written
in column form down the right side. The tour guide
explained the tablet as a representation of the first
ten amendments of the Bill of Rights! However, a 1975
official U.S. Supreme Court Handbook identifies the same
tablet correctly as a “tableau of the Ten
Commandments.” In 1987 the building was designated as a
National Landmark. This allowed for control of the
building to be suspiciously shifted to the U.S.
Department of the Interior. And then in 1988 a new
handbook was written omitting the reference to the Ten
Commandments with no mention of the Tablet with the ten
roman numerals.
Antonio Gramsci, a 20th
century Italian Communist advocated a strategy for
achieving the political objectives of socialism. He
believed political victory would not be achieved in
armed force and violent clashes with the people.
Instead, he advocated a long-term struggle to conquer
the minds of people through the cultural institutions,
education, academia, entertainment, the press,
foundations, and churches. Take a look around, put
Gramsci’s philosophy in context; the enemies of our
“Constitutional Republic” are winning the war on the
minds of its’ people. In the chaos of moral indecency
we will be lead into the servitude of state control and
socialism.
This type of
destructive manipulation and U.S. history revisionism
has been going on for years. Secularists groups in this
country remain obsessed with removing all historical
evidence of our Judeo-Christian heritage. Make no
mistake about it; our government is also complicit in
our decline into moral oblivion. A morally debauched
citizenry cannot be self-governing and will eventually
destroy the Individual freedom and rule of law
established by our founding fathers as promulgated in
the Declaration of Independence and the U.S.
Constitution.
Our founding fathers
based the laws of this land on that sacred tablet called
“The Ten Commandments.” We can look to the actual words
of our founders and confirm with clarity, the
overwhelming presence of Judeo-Christian influence in
our unique heritage;
“We have staked the
whole future of American civilization, not upon the
power of government, far from it. We have staked the
future of all of our political institutions upon the
capacity of mankind to self-government; upon the
capacity of each and all of us to govern ourselves, to
control ourselves, to sustain ourselves according to the
Ten Commandments of God.”
-James Madison
“Providence has given
to our people the choice of their rulers, and it is the
duty – as well as the privilege and interest of our
Christian nation to select and prefer Christians for the
rulers.” -John Jay
“Religion; I have
disposed of all my property to my family. There is one
thing one thing more I wish I could give them, and that
is the Christian Religion. If they had that and I had
not given them one cent, they would be rich. If they
have not that, and I had given them the world, they
would be poor.” -Patrick Henry
“The Law given from
Sinai [The Ten Commandments] was a civil and municipal
as well as a moral and religious code.” -John
Quincy Adams
“Of all the systems of
morality, ancient or modern which have come under my
observation, none appears to me so pure as that of
Jesus.” -Thomas Jefferson
“It is impossible to
rightly govern the world without God and Bible.”
-George Washington
“What students would
learn in American (public) schools above all is the
religion of Jesus.” -George Washington
“Let us with caution
indulge the supposition that morality can be maintained
without religion. Reason and experience both forbid us
to expect that national morality can prevail in
exclusion of religious principle.” -George
Washington
“The Hebrews have done
more to civilize men than any other nation. If I were
an atheist, and believed blind eternal fate, I should
still believe that fate had ordained the Jews to be the
most essential instrument for civilizing the nations.”
-John Adams
Let us never forget
the great words, wisdom, and sacrifice of our founding
fathers. Let us always be thankful for their bravery
and the Constitutional Republic they bequeath to us.
Let us never take for granted our God given liberty, and
guaranteed individual rights under the rule of law. And
last but not least let us have the courage and moral
clarity of our founding fathers to condemn the
destructive work of history revisionists, and defend our
glorious Judeo-Christian heritage.
Yours In Liberty,
